CHAMPS!!

The Red Sox have been crowned the HVMSBL Fall Ball l league champions! It was a long journey but the Sox have finally done it! After coming up short in the spring season (although an impressive inaugural season) it didnt take long to win a championship. The Red Sox faced the Pirates in the championship at Dutchess Stadium. The Pirates were the only team to give the Red Sox a loss in the regular season and that made the Red Sox want this game even more. The Pirates got on the board first in the 2nd inning when they scored off a double to centerfield over Tom McMurray's head. But in the bottom of the second is where the Red Sox would do alot of damage scoring 6 earned runs starting with Tom McMurray's RBI single to left field. The hits would just continue on with Mike Treglia, Brodie Casa, Gavin Lavalle and Tre Gause all having RBI single's. The Red Sox would pretty much be held in check until the 6th inning where they would put up 5 runs once again involving Treglia, Casa, Lavalle and Gause. These four guys were huge assets to the Sox this season! But Scotty Greene stole the show throwing a complete game giving up 3 runs only 2 earned! Scotty battled out of two bases loaded situations to help the Sox secure the victory. The final score was the Red Sox 14 Pirates 3! What a great fall season this was for the Red Sox. Their first year in the HVMSBL they win a championship and look for more with years to come!
