The weather was picture perfect for an upset of the defending champions, although the Outlaws had a different outcome in mind
Outlaws jumped ahead 2-0 after 1 inning
They added 1 more run in the 3rd and 1 more run in the 4th aided by a couple of Tiger errors.
Tigers made good contact early on against an aging but reliable starting pitcher - Greg Crouser but Outlaw defenders were right there.
Tigers best opportunity came in the 4th inning, when they collected 3 hits and were helped by 2 Outlaw errors but only could manage 1 run.
The baseball gods sprinkled some xtra dirt in the infield between 2nd and 3rd base and an usually sure footed veteran had trouble navigating his way to 3rd base and was tagged out before he could reach the base.
Who knows what could've happened next.
But that's baseball.........
Joe Scapoli, Tony Criscuola and James Jolly each had 2 hits and accounted for 6 of the 8 Tiger hits on the day.
Special shout outs to our CY Young Award winner Sean Lyons for shouldering the bulk of the pitching duties in 2025.
And to our veteran All Star catcher Jim Luciano on being named Sportsman of the year.
Both well deserved honors.
Outlaws advance to face the Sharks on Saturday September 27th at Tony Williams park in Highland.
